Definitely the best cheese shop in Charlotte, by far. The staff are always excellent and clearly know what they are doing. I’m Swiss so always go here for the collection of Swiss cheeses that can’t be found elsewhere in Charlotte and they (almost) never disappoint. I say “almost” only because they haven’t had Gruyère or Emmentaler in forever and that breaks my Swiss heart lol. I was told it was due to the tariffs placed on Switzerland but they have other Swiss cheeses so no idea. Maybe the others last longer or get purchased more frequently, in which case, that makes sense. Either way, they do a fantastic job! I also really appreciate that they really stick to cheese and charcuterie. They could easily have a bunch of overpriced artisanal “Italian” BS but instead Orman’s sticks closely to the staples. It’s the closest thing you’ll find to a true European cheese shop! I came here most recently hoping to buy a fondue kit (with the cheese, wine, Kirsch, etc.) and, while they didn’t have that, they quickly threw together some comté and Chällerhocker as a great substitute. Back when they were located at 7th Street, their Raclette night was the closest I’ve found to an authentic Swiss one

Amazing staff! We were walked through the entire menu and got to come the first day that they had wine available. We had the 3 cheese and 3 wine curated board, a grilled cheese and a bottle of red wine. Best cheese I’ve encountered since France and best meats since Italy. They have a wonderful wine selection as well! It’s a must, whether it be a sit down meal or some delicious bites to go!

We picked out some tasty cheese from Orrman’s, and I grabbed a Niçoise salad to go. Of course, they have a great selection of cheeses, but also some fun specialty pantry items as well like tinned fish and artisan chocolate. The service was great. We will be back to try the sandwiches!

What an amazing cheese shop! We went in while visiting family in Charlotte and so glad that we did. I wish we had this place in Oklahoma. Rachel helped us make our choices and she was spot on! We had visited Greece and were trying to find some cheese like we found there and the choices she gave us were so good. Plus we found some more that we really loved. I love that you can try the cheese before buying. You don't get that in many places. We were so happy with our purchase that we went back and bought some more to take home with us! They told us then about how to get it shipped to us and the cheese club so I am excited to try that as well. I would highly recommend them and the cheeses. The service was amazing and the selection is great. The prices are fair for the quality that you get. I will definitely be back when visiting family in Charlotte and I will be trying the shipping option! Give them a try!!!

I love Orrman’s Cheese Shop in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located in the 7th Street market. They have such a great selection of cheeses and the staff is so knowledgeable about them. We had a regional cheese plate, which was absolutely delicious. It came with accoutrements and warm bread which was delicious. One cheese was like a Brie, one was from chocolate lab creamery and one was the Asher blue!! So delicious!!! I’ve been to their raclette night before and that’s been amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try other things.
